Duration of the Program:
The duration of B.Sc. in Textile Engineering program will be of 4 years (12 semesters) for regular students and 3.4 years (10 semesters) for diploma holders.
Credit Hour : The entire undergraduate program is covered through a set of theoretical and laboratory courses, project and internship. Each theoretical credit hour implies one contact hours per week i.e. 13 contact hours per semester and a typical course of 3 credit hours requires 39 contact hours, excluding holidays, exam preparation break, midterm and final examinations. However, one credit for laboratory/project/internship would mean two contact hours per week.
Entry Requirements : Minimum CGPA 2.5 in both SSC and HSC having physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or five subjects in O-Level and three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in A-Level with an average grade of B. Candidates having diploma in engineering with good grades would be given credit exemption in accordance with the guideline of UGC of Bangladesh.
Major Areas : Students can focus their concentration in either Yarn Manufacturing of Fabric Manufacturing or Coloration and Finishing or Apparel Manufacturing and Merchandising according to their interest and career objectives.
Degree Requirements : A total of 161 credit hours including Project and Industrial Internship with a minimum CGPA 2.5 should be earned to achieve the degree.
