Successful Completion of Meet the Aspiring Students (Department of Textile Engineering) Program for Fall-2021 Semester

Hope you are doing well. We are glad to inform you that the Department of Textile Engineering of Green University of Bangladesh has successfully organized the Meet the Aspiring Students (Department of Textile Engineering) program for Fall-2021 semester.

Meet the Aspiring Students (Department of Textile Engineering) started at 07:00 PM on 11.10.2021 with a welcome speech from Dr. Md. Shariful Alam, Associate Professor, Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh. After that the chair of the session Prof. Dr. Nitai Chandra Sutradhar, Distinguished Professor and Chairperson, Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh delivered his informative speech. He focused on the overall prospects of textile education in Bangladesh. He mentioned some inspiring data about the contributions of the textile sector to the total export earnings, industrial employability opportunity and GDP of Bangladesh. He also talked about why subject choice is so crucial for a student and the strengths of the Department of Textile Engineering, GUB as well as the university which makes the Department of Textile Engineering, GUB a good choice. He specially discussed the club activities in GUB and the ethically driven, socially responsive environment of GUB.

In the next segment, Mr. Md. Kaikobad, Lecturer, Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh presented the video documentary of the Department of Textile Engineering. After that, Mr. Md. Mazharul Helal, Lecturer, Department of Textile Engineering gave a presentation where he discussed the current scenario and various opportunities of the textile job sector in Bangladesh. He also detailed the strengths and resources of the Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh in the presentation.

After the presentation, there was a very lively question-answer session. Most of the aspirant students took part in this segment by questioning numerous things about the department, online admission process, waiver policy of GUB etc. All the faculty members present in the session and officials from the admission section answered their questions.

The program ended with a concluding remark from Dr. Jagannath Biswas, Associate Professor, Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh. Some glimpses of the program are attached below.
