Successful Completion of a Webinar Titled Road to Higher Study in Textiles

Greetings from the Department of Textile Engineering. Hope you are doing well.

It is our great pleasure to inform you that the Department of Textile Engineering has successfully completed a webinar titled Road to Higher Study in Textiles on 04.09.2021 (Saturday).

The program started with a welcome speech from Dr. Md. Shariful Alam, Associate Professor and Mentor Moderator, Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh. Then he invited the two speakers to deliver their speech.

Mr. Md. Jahirul Islam, Marketing Manager & Bangladesh Office In-charge, Penhnuo Group delivered his speech from the perspective of a student who initially lagged behind due to unavoidable social and family context. He was a student of the Evening Program of the Department of Textile Engineering, GUB. Then after a lot of struggles he completed his M.Sc. degree from Wuhan Textile University, China, which is one of the top ranked universities for textile education. In his speech, he shared that some inspirational words from our honorable VC sir had changed his life and motivated him to reach this far. That was a very emotional moment indeed. He mainly discussed various job opportunities in home and abroad after completing a post-graduation from a foreign university.

Mr. Rashedul Islam, Shanghai Brothers Textile Company Ltd., Shanghai, China mainly discussed about the application procedure for post-graduation admission and scholarships in China for textile engineers. He shared his personal experience in this regard and showed everything in a very specific manner rather than just lecturing. After that, both the speakers answered numerous questions of the participant students.

Chief Guest of the webinar Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) summarized the key points of the speeches for our students. He also shared his valuable insights about revolutionary economic and technological advancement of China in the global perspective. Sir discussed the necessity of higher education and encouraged the students to involve themselves more in higher education in home and abroad. He also thanked both the speakers wholeheartedly and the organizers for the timely program.

Prof. Dr. Nitai Chandra Sutradhar, Distinguished Professor and Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) put the concluding remarks of the program. He appreciated the efforts of Mr. Md. Jahirul Islam and Mr. Rashedul Islam for the program. He mentioned that he always wants to nurture the culture of higher education and involvement of students in diversified job sectors. He specially thanked Honorable Vice-Chancellor sir for giving us time within his very busy schedule. He also thanked the organizers of the program.
